I grew a garden this year and have since collected over 300 mason jars to fill with goodies...now you would think that gardening is hard and sweaty work...that is until you start canning! Now THAT is sweaty work! So starting next week i am hoping to get all my canning and dehydrating started (my anniversary gifts this year...pressure canner and food dehydrator!!! I was thrilled!)
I am hoping to start freezer cooking so on my "off" nights where i just want to run out the door and have someone else make me dinner...i just pull something out of the freezer and save my husband 20-50 bucks!!! Because by the time we tip that is what we pay each time we go out to dinner!!! It is really insane when you type it and can see it in black and white! I am SUCH a bad housewife!
I also want to make freezer lunches, breakfasts and snacks
The lunches would be things like homemade pizza pockets and burritos- quick things that are individual so i can pop one into the oven and not really have to think about it when i am doing other things...like say CANNING! (I am starting to get overwhelmed by my list! YIKES)
Breakfasts would be things like muffins, pancakes, and waffles were i can just pop one in the microwave or toaster and BAM there is breakfast! We eat allot of cereal in this house and I think something like this with maybe an egg added to it would be a healthy and cheap alternative.
Snacks would be cookies *
I also want to make "Quick Lunches" to pop into a bag as i am running off to do errands so that when lunch comes around we are not swerving into McDonald's which has no become my little lady's favorite request!
So pretty much I want to get better in the kitchen by planning ahead!
Then I want to get better at cleaning my home...I have tried a list...not so good at that...so I am open to suggestions shy of beating myself in the rear to do it!
I also want to become a better mommy...planning activities and projects for my 3 year old little lady (and eventually the little gent too) and trying to teach her good habits to an organized home...which is why I am here. To teach myself these things as well
